I’m so sorry to hear this. I’m inside Frankfort city lines and while it sounds
like I’m in Kansas, all is well here. I have a large brush pile out back, and I
hope all the neighborhood critters are tucked in for the night.
Power and internet are good, but we’ve had a few outages, but nothing that has
lasted long.

Wind damage in NW Franklin County, too. No power since early afternoon, then
later a tree fell over and took the power line to our home down. Couple of
linemen I tracked down in the vicinity this evening said for us not to expect
power to our house for at least 2-3 days due to all the damage along main
lines. We've lost several fences, including a decorative vinyl one. Stuff
blown all over the place w/limbs down in roadways, etc. Barn doors blown in
when they only open out. Nobody in our area whether on electric co-op like us
or from the city power that runs out to within two properties of us has power
either. My mother's place in town without power - believe we heard a
transformer blow just as the power went out at her place. I doubt I'll sleep a
wink with all the wind - no way to quiet it or my thoughts. I want my MTV!!!
(that's a joke, btw)
Very troubling to think about the effect all this ill weather is having on
wildlife - and us humans.

Since Brainard has fallen down on the job, I’m stepping in the gap and
forwarding a link to the GOES continental US satellite image of the really
impressive weather system that blasted through here today. Let the loop load…
I don’t know how it is where you live, but there’s very significant damage in
our area. The wind broke our birdfeeder pole off and it’s laying in the bushes.
The little guys were huddled under cover like they seldom do.
