At Mammoth Cave starting just after sunrise this morning with Tricia Sepulveda. Tallied 37 species, most at Sloan’s Pond and Echo River. Notable birds today:
- Multiple Blue-gray Gnatcatchers heard in several places, and seen at Echo River.
- Two Yellow-throated Warblers singing at Echo River
- Northern Parulas, quite a few, too many to keep up with exact numbers
- FOS Black-and-White Warbler, heard singing for a couple of minutes on the north bank of Green River at Echo River Trail.
- FOS Northern Rough-winged Swallows, one cruising the river and calling at Echo River, and the other flying around an open area near the new lodge/hotel.
- At least four Red-headed Woodpeckers were chasing each other around and making quite the racket at Echo.
