As is my usual morning routine, I stopped by both main ponds after my morning
cattle check. A pair of Blue-winged Teals were at middle pond and I managed to
photograph them without frightening them away. The Cedar Waxwings were also
still there. In a reply to my previous waxwing post, Bob Brown noted that a
bullfrog might snatch one as it got a drink. This morning I stood long enough
near the spot where they get drinks to capture a few. The bank here steeply
tapers to waist deep water. No shallows at this spot for a bull frog to hide
in. Also captured a few on a cedar bough. The tree they were in was a male
tree, but they appeared to be eating something. Male flower parts?
