My brother just called me excitedly reporting his sighting of a male surf scooter at the South Shore Wildlife Management Area in Greenup County (NE Ky) just after noon today.
It flew in with a small flock of BW Teal. A RB and Hooded Merganser were also in the mix.
He was able to observe it in good light for 20 minutes from about 200' with a 60x scope. He's open to it being something else but doesn't know what if not a surf scooter.
