This is a bountiful bird year in the knobs of northern Franklin County.
Beautiful summer tanager on suet feeders today.
In addition to all the migrants, our favorite Northern Cardinal, Stubby Smith,
continues his assault on himself in auto side mirrors and our house windows.
What's the lifespan of cardinals? Every time we forget to cover the car
mirrors with plastic bags, we wonder about Stubby's natural lifespan, which
will be greatly hastened if he breaks his own neck.....
