The KOS/Beckham fieldtrip to the Sloughs WMA in Henderson County today resulted in 82 species being recorded by 19 observers. Highlights of the trip were extended looks at a very cooperative LeConte's Sparrow from close-focus distance, and through-the-scope close-ups of a Least Bittern which sat in the open in full sunlight. Species of particular interest observed were: American Bittern Least Bittern.....Ky late fall date Bald Eagle Merlin King Rail Sora Marsh Wren Sedge Wren LeConte's Sparrow It was a fabulous day, and I wish to extend my appreciation to all the participants. dave __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
