My entire entry for the Ring-necked ducks was missing. I'm not great with this
yet. The pond on Bennett Lane has about 20 pairs of Ring-necked ducks the past
2 days.

As of last evening there remains 2 of the Short-eared owls over on Bennett in
Oldham County. They have been flying up around 6:30-7:00 now. With the fields
beginning to turn green, the heavy load of male Red-winged blackbirds and
Eastern Meadowlarks present, it's only a matter of time. There are at least 2
female Northern Harriers and I snagged pictures of the male Gray Ghost on
Tuesday. The female blackbirds should be arriving soon and things will get
interesting. Much of the haybales that the Bobwhite Quail stay around every
season has been moved into the fields away from close to the lane where I've
seen the birds in the past couple of years. There are a good number of the
baked still set further back for now.
I enjoyed the banquet Tuesday evening. Wonderful time visiting, delicious meal
and a great well versed speaker as well as very entertaining. Those bird calls
he gave were awesome.
Have a good day.
