While birding around the KY and Barkley dams I saw two Scissor-tailed flycatchers. One male below Barkley Dam on the power tower in the middle of the grass field and one female on the power lines on highway 453. Other birds of interest included: Great Egret Black Crowned Night-Heron Black Vulture Osprey Cooper's Hawk American Kestrel Herring Gull Purple Martin Tree Swallow Cliff Swallows - hundreds Barn Swallow Dickcissel A Mississippi Kite flew over my kayak on Blood River on Saturday. It was flying toward the south and looked to be in a hurry to get someplace. This was a new yard bird for my Blood River list. Hap Murray, KY
