I am dying to get out to see if our Blue Grosbeaks are here, etc., but the ugly
weather has me trapped inside. Our orange halves are waiting… but the only
thing that has visited them is a piggish mockingbird.
I did manage to get a passable .wav recording of the Harris's Sparrow, which
was singing in the crabapple tree, at 7:25 AM, this morning. I posted it,
with a photo (also from this morning) in a 28 specie eBird list. Yesterday was
the five-month anniversary of his first appearance, under our feeders.
This morning, we have a male and a female Ruby-throated Hummingbird who are
sipping from the wet blueberry blossoms, on the bush that’s among our feeders.
We’ve had Common Yellowthroat song coming from the pond thicket and grassy
field-edge, since Tuesday. It’s a good time :-)
