The three inches of rain that we had on Thursday, plus the return to cold
weather *has* kept a number of cranes in w. Hardin County so viewing may still
be good there into the coming week.

We've had small flocks of cranes drifting north all week...I don't think

to spot one, this morning. I was scanning the ash tree skeletons in the woods
along Sinking Creek, west of the house, when three Sandhills flew through my

I also spotted the leucistic Red-tail, about a mile away, resting on a snag

fewer recent sightings.
