This afternoon, as I was cutting hay roll covers somewhat earlier than
planned because of the unusually wet forecast for the week, I think I heard a
single call of a Sandhill Crane. Stopped what I was doing. Looked all around.
Listened. Saw and heard nothing else. Considered the possibility that I
imagined the sound, but that call is pretty distinctive. Didn’t make an ebird
report on such fuzzy information.
