I’m delighted to report that 14 individuals participated in the CBC for
Richmond/ Berea/ Madison County on Saturday. The weather was unseasonably warm
and encouraged us to stay outside!
We had 65 species for the count. Highlights included flushing up a Winter
Wren at the Berea College Forest (not too far away from some fresh bear scat);
stopping for a Palm Warbler, which photos revealed that it was accompanied by
three Savannah Sparrows. In addition, a Northern Pintail was found in the
restricted area of the Bluegrass Depot.
