Better weather today than Sunday. And better results. Alison and I located the Red-necked Grebe preening in about the middle of the lake as we walked along the bank not far from the tennis courts. Also saw 7 Pied-billed Grebes & 2 Blue-winged Teals while there. A pair of Canada Geese were guarding the foot bridge as we made our partial circle starting from the park headquarters lot and a Robin was guarding the same bridge on the return walk. Many Canada Geese were arguing over prime island territory. We also stopped briefly at McElroy Lake. Didn't attempt to do a walk around in my town shoes but did manage to see a few birds. - Blue-winged Teals, Northern Shovelers, Mallards, Pectoral Sandpipers, Wilson's Snipes a Northern Harrier, 2 Pied-billed Grebes, an unidentified large falcon, and a Bald Eagle harassing a raft of Coots.
