When I birded more often (many years ago :-)...) I found Ceruleans quit singing
early to mid-July, ...have fledged young by then and by early August are
already migrating. I have found them in early August foraging with family
groups of chickadees and titmice. I love this tree topper.

Subject: [birdky] Report Red River Gorge
Went out to the Rock Bridge Trail in Red River Gorge hoping to see or hear the
Cerulean Warblers that had been reported out there. We unfortunately dipped on
those, not hearing them at all. We did however get four Swainson's Warblers,
one seen and photographed, and three just heard, with recording of two of
those. We also heard a Red-breasted Nuthatch that others have also reported and
managed a rather poor recording of it. There were also lots of Hooded Warblers
which were mostly singing their alternate call. Managed one recording of it as
well. Did not hear any Ovenbirds or Worm-eating Warbers, but did find one
Worm-eating quietly flitting around. Photo and recordings attached to the eBird
report. Overall not a lot of diversity on the trail with only 25 species, but a
great day to be out.
