Carol Hummel and I birded at maple Springs campground for 45 minutes, before I
had to leave to meet my 8:15 group. We could have turned up more species if I
hadn't had to leave.
It wasn't a crazy active as my last two visits, but there were good birds to be
found. A bright male blackburnian warbler was the highlight.
A number of folks have asked me about this area. It's been great early in the
day...I suspect they settle pretty quickly as the temperature rises.
