On our way down to Fulton County on Saturday, I told Matt and Pam that the
floodplain along the Mississippi River/Flyway is an especially fertile region
for Ruff sightings. Of KY's 13 records of which I am aware, 4 have occurred in
western Fulton County and a fifth just up the river in Carlisle County.
After our KY Ruff was present 25-27 March, yesterday a cool looking "black" one
was found not 20 miles north of that location at Ten Mile Pond FWA in
Mississippi County, MO, just across the river! (see attached creen shot from
eBird showing the two locations).
