What?
Did I hear a mention of Short-eared Owls??
We did have a Pileated Woody in the back yard this afternoon, around 1600 hrs.,
up in the pine trees. That Woody has the longest call, 15 seconds, which after
a pause, it repeated several times.
Also heard a terrible vulture story today as they, the vultures, poked the eyes
out of a new calf owned by a farming friend.
And, observed another vulture, unrelated to other V story, as we saw one in a
field next to a busy hwy, flapping around on the ground, like it had been hit
by a car.
Bird stories.....
I'll try to have a better story, next time.

planted and have time to get as tall as it was, last year, as we enter the
winter season.
Of course we are hoping that, if we find Harriers, we will also find
Short-eared Owls:-)
