Well . . . the Falls of the Ohio had been showing promise this fall, but today
I could hardly find a shorebird. Combination of great weather, higher water
level, and obvious predator activity (likely Peregrine Falcon[s]) resulted in
glimpses of a few birds. However, the magnet population of Killdeer that often
attracts other species was totally gone and the only shorebirds I saw were
either flying around frantically or hiding.
Shorebird totals: Pectoral Sp 1 (flying); peep sp. 3 (1 flying with Pec and two
hiding under cover out on fossil beds).
