I banded a female Rufous Hummingbird near Daysville in Todd County yesterday.
Pretty sure this is the earliest female that has been documented in KY by a
couple of months; it's usually the males, particularly adult males, that are
seen in the east prior to October.
Being so early in the season, I'm thinking this adult bird might not linger
very long, but if you are interested in trying to see it, please contact me off
listserv.
