I have been in Louisville this afternoon. Figured it might be a decent day for some fallout with the rain overnight. This afternoon from about 3-4 I saw 9 species of shorebirds and missed Del's Solitary for 10 species there on the day: Semipalmated Plover 6 Killdeer probably only about 10 Greater Yellowlegs 4 Lesser Yellowlegs 2 Spotted Sandpiper 10-12 Least Sandpiper at least 10 Semipalmated Sandpiper 1 Pectoral Sandpiper 1 Stilt Sandpiper 1 Most of the birds were scattered along the edges of the outer pools mostly to the left (upstream of the park overlook) for a change, suggesting that maybe the local Peregrines are not frequenting the area at the present time. I was *really* surprised to see no terns. bpb, Frankfort ________________________________ From: birdky-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx on behalf of ddstriegel@xxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thu 7/31/2008 5:45 PM To: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [birdky] Falls of the Ohio SP Finally, good shorebird habitat at the Falls.
