I ran by Melco this evening. There was an odd Mottled Duck looking thing that I
don't believe is either a Mallard or an American Black Duck. It *could* be a
hybrid Mallard x American Black Duck. It also could be a Mottled Duck. Just not
sure. I will be loading a few photos onto an eBird list in awhile.
There were some new shorebirds there this evening; tally included 2 Semi
Plovers, 40+ Killdeer, 3-4 Lesser Yellowlegs, a Stilt Sandpiper that flew off
with some Pecs when something scared the birds, at least 6 Pecs, and 30-40
peeps, seemingly about evenly split between Least and Semis. Also a single
Wilson's Snipe.
