I spent part of the morning walking our farm again today. Not sure if it was an earlier start or perhaps there were even more birds around. Winds are shifting, so many birds may move out tonight? Warblers today (19 spp) included ... Nashville 2 tardy birds, including a singing male with no tail (I wondered if this was an impediment to migrating?) Northern Parula 2 Yellow 1 Chestnut-sided 6-8 again Magnolia 6-8 again including what had to be one of the prettiest males I'd ever seen Black-throated Blue 1 (presumed same male singing about 300 yds from where he was yesterday) Bay-breasted 2 Yellow-throated (local on territory) Blackburnian 6-8 Black-throated Green 8-10 Blackpoll 8-10 American Redstart 10-12 Ovenbird 2 Common Yellowthroat 6-8 Mourning 2 Connecticut (heard 2 songs from one in a different area than yesterday but again couldn't find) Wilson's 5+ Canada 7 (probably a high count for me in spring; 6 males and a female) Yellow-breasted Chat 2 (locals on territory on next door farm) Other migrants: only Swainson's Thrush today and not as many; 5 Philadelphia Vireos; still lots of Red-eyed Vireos; 1 Acadian Flycatcher. bpb, Louisville ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== When posting on BIRDKY, please close posts with your first and last name and your address (city or county). * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To post on BIRDKY, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the KOS website at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos/default.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the KOS Photo Page to view photos of birds recently sighted in Kentucky: http://www.flickr.com/groups/kentucky_ornithological_society/pool * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison.
