Jan. 22, 2021: I received the gift of grosbeaks this afternoon around 2:00 pm.
There were 10 birds in a boxelder tree feeding on the seeds. Location was the
Paintsville Lake boat ramp on Patoker Road on the Morgan County end. There is a
bottomland area adjacent to the boat ramp with scattered boxelder trees. The
seeds have dwindled quite a bit since fall. Just a few trees still hold seeds.
Coordinates are 37 55 48.8 and -83 00 02.4. I was able to snap a few pictures
with the phone. Photo quality is poor but will submit to e-bird just the same.
