Reports from Wayne Tamminga and Erin Harper with the Ky. Dept. of Fish and 
Wildlife Resources from earlier this week suggest that most of the Sandhill 
Cranes have moved north (just in time for another cold spell). There were fewer 
than 1000 at Barren River Lake and about 4400 in western Hardin County. It will 
be interesting to see if the coming cold spell will last long enough to force 
some birds to move back south.
