CKAS had its outing to Raven Run yesterday morning. We started the walk by
birding the front part of the sanctuary where we had 9 in the group and an
extra 3 who were trying to take advantage of the earlier opening. One of
the 3 had a phobia of birds but this was somewhat lessened by having some
great looks at Indigo Buntings. We also had good looks at Yellow-breasted
Chat and found two occupied Bluebird nests in the nest boxes.
After 2 hours it started to heat up and 5 of us moved to the forested area
behind the Nature Center for nearly 2 hours. We got an earful and great
looks at a Kentucky Warbler that was hanging out by the red trail.
