Just for the sake of reporting more overall "negative" Katrina results, I will add that at Markland Dam, Gallatin Co. on the Ohio River this afternoon, the only birds of interest were at least 66 Black Terns in a loose group. While I was there most kettled up over the river and moved downstream. In addition to earlier reports from the Falls of the Ohio, a juvenile Laughing Gull showed up there mid-morning; there were 20-25 Common Terns with 12 or more Caspians and at least a Forster's or two. Shorebirds included a juv. Sanderling, a juv. Baird's, Least, Semi Sp, Semi Plover and Greater Yellowlegs. On the Ohio River both above and below the Falls of the Ohio for a mile or two, waterbirds of note were lacking. If anyone looked at other water Tues or Wed, please add your posts to help paint an overall picture of results, both positive and negative. bpb, Louisville ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== The BIRDKY Mailing List requires you to sign your messages with first & last name, city, & state abbreviation. -------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the Kentucky Ornithological Society web site at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison, Richmond, KY E-mail: gary.ritchison@xxxxxxx
