The Pileated Woodpecker visited my yard a couple of times again today and this time I was able to identify it as a male. I got pictures this time and he stayed long enough for me to get binocs on him for the id. Also, yesterday as Eric and I drove to dinner, we saw 4 black vultures on the ground in a bean field. They appeared to be wrestling with a large piece of cardboard. First time I have seen them on the ground around here.
