Decided to run out to the Pfeiffer Fish Hatchery this afternoon. Only 1
pond is drained with some actual mud in it. It's in the very back. Ran by
it once and had a few Leasts, a Semipalmated, and a Solitary Sandpiper. Hit
some other ponds and got a Caspian Tern overhead, a few Spotted Sandpipers,
Green Herons, and 3 Great Egrets. I hit the drained pond again after that
and found more birds I must've missed including 2 Semipalmated Plovers, 2
Baird's/White-rumped Sandpipers that I have good photos of and will confirm
ID's later, and a bird I really want to turn into a Western. Also refound
the Little Blue Heron. Will be posting an update a little later along with
an eBird checklist.
