As a wildlife officer years ago I got a call to pick up a dead banded
"hawk". It was in the Highlands subdivision of Franklin, KY in Simpson
County. It got electrocuted after landing on an electrical transformer.
What I found was a dead Peregrine with bands on both feet. It was clutching
a dead dove in its talons. When I picked him up, I saw that even in death
he never turned loose of the dove.

I had a Peregrine on the telephone lines in the backyard earlier this week.
A first here. A dove flew into one of our windows (the feeder is close to
the house) and when I went out to check on that bird, there sat the Falcon
peering around. No wonder the dove was anxious to get out of the yard!
Unfortunately, the Peregrine did not stay long enough for my to get my
camera.

Just saw the pair of peregrines putting on quite an air show in downtown
Louisville. Watched them from the Humana building looking southeast/down 5th
st. One landed briefly on the Aegon building.
