Add a singing Wood Thrush to that, and a White-eyed Vireo, both FOY and added
within the last few minutes.
Also, you Northerners should look up because there are squadrons Blue Jays
passing over here, every few minutes.

Before sunrise, this morning, I counted our first –of–year Baltimore and
Orchard Orioles. Both were singing nicely. I also saw a FOY Gray Catbird, in
the pond thicket, around sunrise. Minutes ago, I had just finished taking a
photo of an Eastern Wood Pewee, on a tree top in the south fence row, when I
spotted a Scarlet Tanager in a treetop west of the house (both FOY). I
thought I heard a Pewee call, last evening. It was very distinct but only
called one time, so I dismissed it, assuming it was one of our mimics. eBird
was not happy with an early Pewee, so I’ll add a photo.
I also thought I heard a Common Yellowthroat, last evening, but then heard
and saw it this morning.
It’s a great time of year to be a bird nut!
