I have had several requests to know what the bird is eating, so I thought I
would post.
My husband makes a peanut butter mix and smears it on some wooden feeders
purpose made, basically just boards with ¾ holes, not drilled all the way
through but making little wells. He gets big jars of Kroger chunky peanut
butter. He puts all kinds of seed in it. Right now I think he has scratch
feed, hulled sunflowers, safflower, finch mix, thistle. It is very popular,
attracting more different birds than the suet we used to use. He mixes it in
a big heavy mixer that we use to make bread, otherwise it can get pretty
labor intensive.
