Nothing new on my farm circle this morning, but I have been doing it enough
lately to develop strategies for picking up a few more of the expected regulars
regularly. Even so, I can never get much more than around half as many birds in
my hour circle as Steve Tyson gets for his weekend list. For starters, Steve
nearly always gets Bobwhite. I know there are some on my place, but may not see
them on 1 circle out of 20. My only pictures today were of shrike & Blue
Grosbeak. Another bird for this morning not on my ebird list - a Red-shouldered
Hawk was sitting on a hay roll as I approached my nephew’s tobacco barn.
