I've had a Northern Harrier in the field next to my house for the past few days. I've seen him 3 times....twice hunting low to the ground and then perched in a nearby tree....what a beauty!! A gray ghost he is!! No shots of the Harrier but I've added a lot more images to the Christmas Backyard Birds. The number of birds grew as I fed about 25 pounds of seed a day since the storm but outside of the Harrier, there were no new birds. I had put out about 25 pounds of cracked corn next to the field where the Harrier (before I knew he was there) was but didn't get any Snow Buntings, Larks, or Longspurs. I'll keep trying. Also a big disappointment was that I never got any Pine Siskins either. http://homepage.mac.com/lhays/Birds/PhotoAlbum100.html Lana Hays Walton, KY ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== The BIRDKY Mailing List requires you to sign your messages with first & last name, city, & state abbreviation. -------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the Kentucky Ornithological Society web site at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison, Richmond, KY E-mail: gary.ritchison@xxxxxxx
