Hi folks,
In Kentucky, bald eagles usually lay eggs during January and February, but will
begin nest building and repair as early as October. Young usually fledge (leave
the nest) April-July. That being said, the timing can vary and we’ve had a few
pairs lay eggs in December. Laying in March isn’t out of the question either
(particularly if the first attempt failed). More info on Kentucky Bald Eagles
can be found here:

Someone posted on FB in the last day or so, a photo of bald eagles mating. The
photo was taken in the Ky Lake/ Land Between the Lakes area so I'd say the
nesting process is underway in KY.
In mid-February last year, I saw an eagle sitting on the nest with mate on
nearby branch at Taylorsville Lake. Not sure if it was sitting on eggs or with
hatchlings but active in the nesting process either way.

Well Charlie, are you asking when they start building a nest, or when they lay
eggs, or when the eggs hatch?
I do have answers for the Daytona Beach, FL area as eggs hatch Dec 5th- Dec 15.
Eggs laid 25-30 days prior, and nest building or reenforcing of nests, adding
to the old nest....Sept?...but of course many, most, nests are used year after
year until they decay, rot and fall apart, or due to a strong wind. How do I
know this about Daytona Beach eagles? I have a Eagle "freak" almost excessive
eagle watcher old buddy down there who watches/he says monitors, 12-15 eagle
nests everyday of the year 2 hours before work and 2 hours in the late
afternoon, except in late spring and summer, when he is distracted by Swallow
tail Kites.......my guess KY Eagles do all of the above 30-45 days later....the
warmest place in the USA today was Homestead, Fl, at 77 deg., Browder was
almost 40 deg colder.
