I was just finishing up what turned out to be an all day job of replacing an 8
foot gate post when Rickey Shive and his daughter Jana stopped by. It was
really enjoyable visiting from a safe social distance. After they left, we took
our afternoon walk, which usually takes us as far as that wet spot Rickey
mentioned. I was shot, so we turned around early and didn’t see the Teals.
Before we got back home, a neighbor stopped beside us to tell me about a Bald
Eagle nest at Guthrie Swamp. I assumed he meant the one about a quarter mile
off 848 on John Coots farm. He knew about that nest, but said this one
overhangs the water at Guthrie Swamp and can be viewed from the Alison Road/848
junction. If that new nest location has already been mentioned in other posts,
I missed it and figured it would be simpler to give redundant info that to hunt
through the archives.
