The Egyptian Goose seems to have absented itself, but I did see a few good
birds on what has of late been my only complete farm circle of the week.
Highlight was a Bald Eagle flyover. Since it dropped out of sight just behind
my own woods, I made an attempt to see if there might be a partially abandoned
deer carcass by the woods that adjoins mine. Some hunters don’t even use the
meat, but simply save the head for a trophy. We had just spotted a white pick
up parked there the previous day on our road walk. As it turned out, the pick
up was still there this morning, with the driver apparently using it as a deer
blind. He was not facing me, but I saw movement in the truck before
withdrawing. Is it even legal to use a truck for a blind?
Only other semi-highlights were 3 Swamp Sparrows and a Kingfisher flyover.
