A trip to Christian County today produced some interesting birds. In the last 5
days the small lake has dropped significantly. It is almost half the size it
was 5 days ago, however the number and variety of birds has continued to
increase. Here are some of the species seen today.

Merlin- (female)
Black Tern- 14
Short-billed Dowitcher
Greater Yellowlegs
Lesser Yellowlegs
Least Sandpiper
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Stilt Sandpiper
Spotted Sandpiper
Pectoral Sandpiper
Solitary Sandpiper
Killdeer
Great Blue Heron
Great Egret
Green Heron
Mallard
Blue-winged Teal
Wood Duck
Canada Goose

Earlier this week David Roemer and I found a female Pied-billed Grebe and 5
young. They were relocated today. In addition another female Pied-billed
Grebe was found with 2 young in another pond a short distance away
