Barbara Woerner and I walked around the primary loop at Morgan Conservation Park yesterday evening to do some preliminary scouting for tonight's outing. We had all three nightjars with visuals on 1 common nighthawk (flyover) and 2 Eastern Whip-poor Wills (called in to nearby trees). A we heard a Chuck Will's Widow approach but we weren't able to spot it. I have staked out a place where I hope to duplicate last night's viewing, which will start about sunset. I'll be arriving early at the picnic table shelter at 4:30. I'd to get moving by 5:10 so we can hopefully cover most or all of the trails. I'd definitely put on some sunscreen and bring some H2O or gatorade, insect repellent and a flashlight (the short walk out is at dusk after the nightjar call in).
