So this evening I have received two additional photographs of the American
Flamingo at Cave Run Lake; the first was from north of the Twin Knobs Beach,
but the second was of it flying west over the Minor Clark Fish Hatchery before
sunset. This does not bode well for a re-sighting on the lake tomorrow, so I
might encourage some to just check water bodies close to home. Maybe someone
will get lucky. I am going to stick to Plan A, and any word of a re-sighting
will be sent around quickly.
So far, it seems like birds that have been present one day are disappearing and
not being re-found at the same or nearby locations on following days (other
than one of the young birds in TN), so it has inevitably and undeniably become
the needle in a haystack.
