Just as we stepped out the back door for our afternoon walk, 7 Sandhill Cranes
flew low overhead and circled (so we could see them better, I'm sure) before
moving on northward. A few minutes later at least 77 Sandhill Cranes flew high
overhead, also going north. I say at least 77 because that's how many I counted
in a frame. Might have been more. Then, as we started up the road, a Cooper's
Hawk was perched in the dead tree at the corner of the barn lot.
