Been on the family farm most of this week cleaning up from the worst storm
damage we've had since Hurricane Ike (Sep 2008). Found one dead titmouse while
cleaning up debris, suggesting that the wind and rain did cause some mortality.
Last week we encountered an interesting Song Sparrow nest; for years they have
nested in our hay bale stacks in the open-sided barns, but we found a nest
*inside* the second floor loft of a barn that is essentially closed except for
one missing board and a small window. I placed a couple of photos of the scene
at this link that I hope will open directly.

Our buddy Frank Lyne from Logan County has not been able to post to BIRDKY for
awhile and he's trying to figure out how to solve the problem, but he related
that he has American Kestrels nesting in the box on his barn occupied by Barn
Owls earlier in the year.
