As I pulled onto my street yesterday afternoon I immediately noticed a bird
in my front yard maple that I was almost certain was a Merlin, and as I
pulled up it was confirmed! First time seeing it this year, as I've had one
wintering in the area previous years. Watched and photographed it for about
20 minutes as it preened and stretched. See photos in ebird checklist.
