The 6 White Ibis continue at McElroy Lake although there are only a couple of small pools around springs remaining. Other waders feeding in the pools today were about 65 Great Blue Herons and 12 Great Egrets. These birds are having a time feeding on dragonfly nymphs of which the number in the grass in the pools is astronomical. Shorebirds present around the pools today included Lesser Yellowlegs, Solitary, Spotted, Western (1), Least, Pectoral and Stilt Sandpiper (1) as well as Short-billed Dowitcher (5). At least one pair of Black-necked Stilts is still incubating.
