After eight years of offering oranges and jelly for orioles, with each spring
and summer passing having a few more orioles come to our feeders, today was
truly special!! This morning there were both Baltimore and Orchard Orioles
everywhere at our feeders...adult males, first summer males and females, and
adult females of both species. Estimated total of around thirty orioles (of
both species). They were like Christmas ornaments on the bushes and trees
feeding on multiple cut oranges and our jelly feeder! Nearing sunset, several
were still present ...wow what a sight!
