12 birders joined me on a nice morning at Cherokee Park. Birding was sporadic
with activity pockets here and there.
Jewelweed , as always, was great for finding hummingbirds.
We actually had a nice look at a Blackburnian and Bay-breasted Warbler gleaning
insects in Jerusalem Artichokes at eye level!!!
We ended the walk with nice looks at 2 Olive-sided Flycatchers and 2 Northern
Parulas. Others stayed to bird after I left at 11, so they may have found more.
Highlights include:
5 Ruby-throated Hummingbird
2 Olive-sided Flycatchers ( my species high count lol )
1 Acadian and 2 Least Flycatcher
Red and White-eyed vireo
1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet ( first of season)
2 Northern Parula
5 Bay-breasted Warbler
1 Blackburnian Warbler
5 American Redstart
3 Magnolia Warbler
1 Common Yellowthroat
Fun time with good birds and great birders!!
