Weekend travel plans thwarted so I did a large Lexington loop for 60+ species. 12 Red Crossbills in section 13 at the Lexington Cemetery in all plumage states was pleasant surprise. Also there were Golden CR Kinglets, Red-Breasted Nuthatch, sapsucker, Chipping Sparrows , Fox Sparrow , Yellow-Rumped warblers[several locations] phoebes and Tree swallows[both many places] and a pair of Coopers hawks with a nice flight display. Richmond Rd. produced a Bl-CR Night-Heron on the water co. property and a fresh-plumaged Common Loon on the causeway. Across from Jacobson Park were 8 Horned Grebes with all the Pied-bills. No scoters.+ Redhead Ducks. McConnell Springs had a Louisiana Waterthrush. 2 Carolina wrens but could not find any Bewicks. No Yellow-Cr NH on Woodbine [?spelling] yet. Spindletop with usuals and ~5 Tree Sparrows ,BL W Teal , Ring-Necked Ducks , Field Sparrows etc. Good Birding, Dave Svetich Lexington,Ky. -- ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== When posting on BIRDKY, please close posts with your first and last name and your address (city or county). * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To post on BIRDKY, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the KOS website at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos/default.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the KOS Photo Page to view photos of birds recently sighted in Kentucky: http://www.flickr.com/groups/kentucky_ornithological_society/pool * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison.
