husband and I visited Land Between the Lakes this past weekend and we saw a lot
of birds. We camped at Demumbers Bay and were lucky enough to see hundreds of
American White Pelicans fly through one morning. There were always some of
them in the bay during our stay. I enjoyed watching them fish. They would
break off into groups of about 10 and herd the fish. When they felt like they
had some they would circle and in unison stab their beaks into the center of
the circle and usually most of them were successful in catching some fish. It
was almost like watching a synchronized swimming event. I have a lot of
pictures to go through but I have been able to post a few of them on my Flickr
page. We also saw bald eagles, (adult and juvenile), Cedar Waxwings, several
types of warblers ( I may need help "ID"ing the warblers as I am not very good
with them yet.), Red tail Hawk, sparrows, Pine Siskins. I tried to get as many
pictures as I could but it will take a while to get through all of them and
pick out the best ones. Follow the link if you would like to view the pictures.
