Saw a Ruby-crowned Kinglet & a couple of Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers on the
morning farm circle.
Several of the regulars at woods food rock seem to enjoy defeating the purpose
of me having a zoom lens on my Canon Powershot sx-160. While I’m getting the
little draw-string sack of sunflower seed out of my vest pocket, Mrs Towhee
sits on a branch directly in front of me at a distance of little more than
arm’s length. If I zoom in at all, part of her is out of the frame.
Later, I intended to walk across pond dike on the way home. Mrs Bluebird
thought that route would take me too close to her nest and almost flew out. She
settled back down when I turned around and went another way. Can’t do anything
about the two nests right at gate crossings, but I only go through those gates
once each day.
