Frank,

Jeeves and his winter 2014-2015 haunts along Watermelon Road in Logan County
will always be unique to those of us who got to enjoy his stay with you and
Alison ... :o)

Yesterday's Harris's Sparrow (who we *immediately* nicknamed "Frank, Jr."
(a.k.a. "Little Frank") is another adult; it was "blundered into" by us along
one of the small gravel roads that traverse the Vogue Unit of Peabody WMA, west
of KY 175 south of its junction with KY 70. Chris Wood and Brian Wulker spotted
it with two adult White-crowned Sparrows as we were slowly moving along the
road listening for other songbirds. Another vehicle came along and spooked them
off the gravel, and we were not able to relocate the Harris's, but Chris and
Brian were able to snap a couple of documentary shots of it. I wish I could say
exactly how to get to the spot, but I am no longer familiar enough with the
Vogue Unit to say for sure. Chris *may* have accurately mapped it in eBird, but
it was along the westernmost of the two gravel roads that go up onto the higher
areas there, and about 1/2 the way down from the summit to the main gravel road
at the bottom of the hill. The sparrows were hopping around on one of the
gravel "pads" that surround the natural gas valve junctions.

Subject: [birdky] Jeeves loses unique status

Those of you receiving ebird alerts have probably already seen that a Harris's
Sparrow has been seen in Muhlenberg County by Chris Wood (also Brainard). It
wasn't Jeeves on the move north. Jeeves is still here, but Chris & Brainard's
sighting ends Jeeves' celebrity status as the only known Harris's Sparrow in
KY this season. I'm not going to mention this to Jeeves. Alison saw Jeeves
feeding from the bird table for the first time a few days ago and I finally
got a picture of him on the bird table yesterday. Also got a picture of him on
corn rock this morning. His molt looks complete to me.
