It may be possible to go too far in ascribing human qualities to something as
small as a wren, but it’s hard not to when their behavior so often suggests
human intent. This morning, I captured Carolina Wren inspecting two very
disparate sets of tools that each represent big bites of my life - first a set
of wood carving chisels, then a spike holder containing two tobacco spikes. In
my mind it seemed to be puzzling over the purpose of each. In its own mind it
was likely just wondering if any bugs hid with either.
